Conference venues
The WIN 2026 Conference will take place in the city of Delft at two central locations: Royal HaskoningDHV TU Delft – Aula

Royal HaskoningDHV will host part of the conference programme. The building is located near the TU Delft campus and can be reached in approximately 15 minutes on foot from Delft Central Station.
Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) – Aula

The Aula Conference Centre will host plenary sessions and keynotes. It is centrally located on campus and within 10–15 minutes walking distance from Delft Central Station.
Both venues are within short walking distance of each other.
Getting to the conference venues
Delft is centrally located in the Netherlands and easily accessible by train, car, and public transport. All conference locations are within walking distance of Delft Central Station and the historic city centre.
By train (recommended)
We strongly recommend travelling by train. Delft has direct and frequent connections to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht.
From Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), direct intercity trains run to Delft every 10–15 minutes. Travel time is approximately 45–55 minutes.
From Delft Central Station:
- Royal HaskoningDHV – ~15 minutes on foot
- TU Delft Aula – ~10–15 minutes on foot
- Nieuwe Kerk (Gala Dinner) – ~10 minutes on foot
Tickets can be purchased online, at station ticket machines, or via the NS (Dutch Railways) app.
By car
Delft is accessible via the A4 and A13 motorways. Parking is available near the TU Delft campus and in designated areas around the city. Please note that parking in Delft is paid and spaces in the historic centre are limited. Public transport is recommended whenever possible.
Local transport
Delft is compact and easy to navigate on foot. Local buses connect the station and TU Delft campus. Bicycle rental is available at the station, and cycling is a convenient way to travel between venues.
International travel & arrival in the Netherlands
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS)
One of Europe’s major hubs, with direct flights to/from destinations worldwide.
From Schiphol to Delft:
- Train: Frequent direct trains to Delft Central Station (≈ 45–55 minutes). Trains depart every 10–15 minutes.
- Taxi / ride service: ≈ 40–50 minutes, depending on traffic.
- Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM) – closer to Delft but with a smaller selection of flights.
- Eindhoven Airport (EIN) – often served by low-cost carriers, with onward train connections via Eindhoven Centraal.
The Dutch rail network is fast, reliable, and international-friendly. Delft Central Station is served by direct intercity trains from major cities including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht.
Invitation letters for visa purposes
If you require an official invitation letter to support your visa application, the conference Secretariat can provide one upon request.
To request an invitation letter:
- Ensure you are registered for WIN 2026.
- Email info@win2026.nl with:
- Your full name (as in passport)
- Nationality
- Passport number
- Institution / affiliation
- Postal address
- Conference registration number (if available)
We will issue a formal letter including the conference name, dates, venue details, and confirmation of your participation. Please allow 5–10 business days for processing.
Practical travel tips
Public transport in Delft
Delft is compact and highly walkable. Buses serve local neighbourhoods, and cycling is a common way to travel — bike rentals are available at the station.
Accommodation
We recommend booking hotels early, especially near Delft Central Station or the historic centre. Shuttle services will not be provided between venues.
